Home remedies to prevent Bed Wetting

Children often outgrow bed wetting as they age, but it can be embarrassing and cause your child to shy away from social activities. You can help your child stop wetting the bed with some easy and simple natural remedies which are listed here:

  1. Gourd Creeper – Roots of gourd creeper are crushed and the juice thus extracted is fed to the child just before going to bed
  2. Chebulic myrobalan – 1 tsp of finely powdered chebulic myrobalan is added to half a cup of cold water early in the morning. The water floating on top of the sediment is given as a bedtime drink to the child
  3. Emblic myloboron – It should be powdered well and filtered over a clean piece of cloth to separate the fine powder. Half a spoon of this powder mixed with honey is given to the child at bedtime continuously for one whole week. This destroys the intestinal worms, increases appetite and relieves constipation as well as bed wetting
  4. Cinnamon – Have your child chew a piece of cinnamon stick thoroughly once a day or you can also combine sugar and cinnamon powder and then sprinkle it on buttered toast. Serve it as a breakfast meal
  5. Walnut and Raisins – Give your child two walnuts and five raisins before going to bed continuously for 2 weeks to stop bed wetting
  6. Jaggery – Give your child a small piece of jaggery early in the morning. After an hour let him/her have a ½ teaspoon of celery seeds with a pinch of rock salt twice a week for continuously 4 weeks to see the results
  7. Black sesame seeds – Give your child one teaspoon of black sesame seeds twice daily
  8. Apple cider vinegar – Have apple cider vinegar after every meal to stop bed wetting as it will increase the acidity in your stomach and as a result, there will be less urge to urinate regularly
  9. Cranberry juice – Cranberry juice is known to suppress urination. Giving your child a small glass of cranberry juice before going to bed can stop bed wetting
  10. Massage – As per the Chinese medicine, bed wetting can be the reason of water imbalance which can be somehow cured by massaging on the lower back to “warm the kidneys” and balance the Water element. Rapidly rub back and forth on the low back for 60 – 90 seconds
